Senior judgment about the risks that actually matter.
Cyber Algorithmic is a boutique cybersecurity consulting firm. The senior consultant who scopes your engagement is the one who does the work, partnering with your team end to end.

We started Cyber Algorithmic in 2017 with a simple conviction: most organizations do not need more security tools, they need senior judgment about which risks actually matter and what to do about them. We have spent the years since building that judgment into a practice mid-market healthcare, financial-services, and legal organizations can lean on.
We are deliberately small. Fewer people in the room means clearer accountability and advice grounded in decades of hands-on security leadership, not a junior bench you never met during the pitch.
How we work
Former CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs. Not a junior bench.
Every engagement is led by a senior advisor who has held the seat and answered to a board. The person who scopes your work is the person who does it.
- 25+ years of hands-on security leadership, each
- The same named person month to month, not a rotating roster
- Frameworks we have lived, not memorized: HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST
We plug in like a senior hire, not a vendor.
We learn how your organization actually runs, then own your risk picture alongside your team, from the boardroom down to implementation.
- Scoped end to end: assessment, roadmap, and the work to carry it out
- Risk reporting your board and leadership can act on
- Available as a one-time project or an ongoing engagement
Plain answers, not alarms.
We translate cyber risk into decisions your board and team can act on. No silver bullets, no technobabble, no fear-selling. Just senior judgment in language your staff can follow.
- Specificity over volume
- Calm when the building is dark and the phones are ringing
- The honest answer, even when it is not the one you hoped for
Who you work with
Every Cyber Algorithmic engagement is led by a senior executive who has held the seat and answered to a board. These are the people in the room.

Chief Operating Officer
R. Tod Grantham
Tod Grantham has spent more than 25 years building, mentoring, and running the professional services and delivery organizations behind some of the industry's most demanding technology and cybersecurity firms: the operational discipline that turns senior security judgment into programs a board can actually rely on.
Since 2021, Tod has worked with Cyber Algorithmic, first in an advisory capacity, then serving as Head of Operations and COO starting in 2023, where he built the firm's initial sales, marketing, and technical delivery frameworks in support of its mission to help mid-market organizations mature and secure their environments without carrying full-time executive headcount.

Prior to this, as VP of Professional Services at a security specialization firm, he reversed an underperforming PMO and engineering delivery unit, lifting utilization above 90% while introducing the scalable procedures and KPI baselines needed to prepare for the company's planned growth. That pattern, walking into a delivery organization and rebuilding it into something a client and a board can trust, runs through Tod's entire career.
As COO and VP of Professional Services at a national IT and cybersecurity services firm, he stood up the company's first Security Services practice, focused on policy development, assessments, and compliance management, while re-engineering the sales and delivery model to grow revenue roughly 300% and cut adverse revenue swings to under 5%. He built a structured RFP response process that tripled response capacity and doubled win rates on multi-year, multi-million-dollar engagements, including complex federal and SLED contracts.
Earlier, at BT Global Services and International Network Services, Tod ran technical professional services organizations on two continents. As Managing Director for BT's Asia-Pacific operations, he grew the region's valuation by more than 30% ahead of an acquisition and laid the groundwork for the company's third Ethical Hacking Center of Excellence in Singapore. In the U.S., he established both of BT's Unified Communications and Microsoft Program Management Offices from the ground up, and grew the Northwest U.S. operations region from a negative-revenue startup to $25M in annual revenue and 150 engineers over five consecutive years of doubling, key experience earned in the run-up to the firm's $3.7B IPO.
Tod holds an AS in Computer Technology from ECPI University, is a Microsoft Certified Professional, and has completed more than 1,000 hours of continuing professional education, including coursework at Foothill College and UC Berkeley. He is based near Annapolis, Maryland.
What Tod brings to Cyber Algorithmic's clients is the operational backbone behind the firm's promise: senior, hands-on leadership that embeds with a client's team, builds the frameworks and reporting cadence a board can act on, and delivers actionable products, not just advice.
